The EVITA All-Hands Meeting has taken place on 13–14 April at IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center (IT4I) in Ostrava, Czech Republic. The meeting has brought together project partners to review progress across work packages and to align on upcoming activities.
Day 1: Aligning on Progress and Vision The meeting opened with a comprehensive review of work package progress, giving partners a clear picture of how the different pieces of EVITA fit together. Discussions also centred on the project’s cascade funding calls, which will support the development of modular training materials for the EVITA. Partners had the opportunity to tour the IT4Innovations facilities, including an up-close look at VLQ, the Czech Republic’s first quantum computer, alongside demonstrations of cutting-edge HPC applications. The day concluded with an inspiring first look at the prototype of the newly developed EVITA training platform – offering a glimpse of what lies ahead for learners across Europe.
Day 2: Workshops, Breakouts, and Next Steps The second day began with a recap of Day 1, followed by breakout sessions exploring topics central to the project’s mission. Two hands-on workshops shaped the rest of the day: the first focused on how project partners can actively contribute to EVITA’s communication efforts, and the second explored plans for the Training Platform, including user functionality, exam implementation, and impact assessment. The meeting closed with a visit to Ostrava’s Old Steel Mill – a fitting reflection on the journey shared over the two days.
Looking Ahead EVITA extends a heartfelt thank you to all partner organisations for the energy, ideas, and dedication they brought to Ostrava, with special thanks to Karina Pešatová for the wonderful hospitality. The consortium leaves the meeting with renewed momentum and a clear path forward. Stay tuned for more updates as EVITA continues to grow.
